Connecting to the Internet via a proxy server?
For cloud connections, both devices (that is, the remote computer you want to control, and the local device you want to control from) must be able to communicate with our cloud service.
Any intermediate proxy server at either end must be configured to allow outgoing communications to the following cloud service URLs: https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/docs/realvnc-network-access.html#network-access-requirements
Note: If you have an Enterprise subscription, want to license VNC Server on a remote computer at the command line, and have a proxy server that requires authentication, see the bottom of this FAQ.
Not connecting via a proxy server?
If you have a Home or Professional subscription and are not connected to the Internet via a proxy server, you should never need to configure ports, firewalls or routers. Our cloud service will automatically finds the best route between your devices.
If you have an Enterprise subscription, you may need to configure ports, firewalls and routers if you want to establish direct connections only. For more information, see this FAQ: https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/docs/faq/router.html#do-i-have-to-configure-my-firewall-and-router
