Connection stays active after disconnecting
I have a Lite account and it only allows 1 connection. After I connect from 1 PC to another and then disconnect, it says that connection is still active and will not allow me to connect to it again. Doing a force disconnect does nothing. I have to go reboot that PC before the connection is released. How can I fix that?

Hi everyone,
To ensure sessions end automatically when RealVNC Viewer disconnects you need to be running RealVNC Server 7.13.1 or the RealVNC Connect v8 beta on your remote devices you are connecting to. Please ensure you have updated RealVNC Server and not RealVNC Viewer on the device you are connecting from.
Thanks,
Jack
This is a BIG problem. Please fix it immediately. This should be your FIRST priority!!!
Hi!
Same issue for me. I have Essentials subscription. When I close the window of the remote session, it is still showing that the connection is active. Alternatives which are given by the Viewer client are either buy access to one or few more concurrent sessions, or close the connection on the website under my RVNC account. I have to go online to the web-portal and force the disconnection which is extremely inconvenient.
Moreover, if I do not make any actions for some time, I cannot access the active session window anymore, but the icon shows the session is still active! I have to go to the website, force disconnection and so on and on...
I have the same issue. I keep having to go in and force end my sessions.
I have this issue too - running latest viewers but old version 6.3 server.
What server versions are you using??
PS: i am very nervous about upgrading the server, I have no convenient physical access to the machine, only VNC access ( its located 4,000 km west of me...)
Michael Walker I upgraded my server via VNC and it worked fine. I even had to disconnect in the middle of the install. After a reconnect, (disconnecting again via force end session) I succesfully installed the 7.1.13 server remotely onto my work computer and instantly the problem was resolved.
I am on MAC, but hopefully this gives you some confidence to move forward with the remote upgrade of the server.
