Connect V8 : Windows 10 has "sizing" issues when remote viewing and changing scale, size, etc
In Connect V8 (March 2025), I noticed with the control toolbar interface change, there are some additional "sizing" options when viewing a different resolutioned remote screen. My issue is that you're altering my local "window" at the same time as adjusting the remote scaling effect? Please don't. I set my window to maximum of my local screen, as I want to focus on the remote session (ie. I control my computer's window set up). If I select to display the remote screen in a different scaling/sizing due to differences in monitor screen sizes or proportions, you are actively changing my local Connect window into the proportioned size to the remote screen. This is wrong, as my local session is then jolted into an overlaid position across my other windows apps, instead of remaining in maximised local screen format. Leave my local windows as they are, and just accept I'm willing to have a lot of blank space around the oddly shaped remote screen proportion or whatever it's doing. In fact, now I mention it, how about a "grey" (set colour) as the default blank space, so when I'm viewing an all-black background on the remote server, my local all black viewing window can indicate where the screen is positioned?
Comments
It's sad that I have to add comment to my own post, but with only limited scope to provide feedback to RealVNC - I wanted to bump this up a bit in anyone reading this (from RealVNC hopefully).
The "windows" manipulations you're doing on Windows (10, for me) is just not user friendly? You shouldn't be able to so easily adjust my viewing/client window. It's just a mess of a method that does not help me. I could be linking to a very different resolution Server screen, so it's just needing to use my "visual" experience on the Client/Viewer as the leading calculations for display. Whatever my screen resolution is you just work the numbers to show me a clean, resized view, into my specifications.
What this means, is if my Client window is resized onto my monitor screen in a particular position (say, it's 2/3's across the screen size and 99% of the height)... that's it, just do all your resizing and manipulation views of the Server screen/s within this window. Don't change it, don't move it, don't resize, don't touch it! I will be the one to use your "monitor" resizing tools "within" your Viewer app, to see if I can manipulate the Server screens into a format that I can view/read/see enough detail.
I hope you understand what I'm saying, as I can't think of another App that I've seen disregard the User's windows arrangement more than your Client app (ever, in my computer usage)?
