VNC Connect fast on WiFi but slow on Ethernet
I have a Windows machine at home and a Windows machine at my holiday home.
Home as a FTTH 1Gb connection via Sky and my holiday home has a FTTH 1Gb connection via BT.
The holiday home machine is connected directly to the BT router via Ethernet and gets speed tests at about 900Mb.
The home machine is connected directly to the Sky SR203 router via Ethernet and gets speed tests at around 900Mb as well.
Now, if I try to connect via VNC (free account) using Ethernet at home then the connection speed is so bad it is unusable. Opening a window can take 40 seconds to appear.
I noticed when I was in a hotel a few weeks ago that using the hotel's wifi on my laptop the VNC connection was brilliant!
So I have just disconnected Ethernet at home and connect to the Sky router via Wifi - Speedtest around 80Mb but the VNC connection is perfect over WiFi! Buttery smooth!
I would really appreciate any advice please ?

Hi Simon,
Thanks for posting. While we can provide older versions, I wouldn't recommend running version 6.0.1 as it is very old and has known issues and limitations. I can see you have raised a ticket with our Support team - I will pick this up and respond further there.
Kind regards,
Jack N
EDIT: I should point out that with both machines connected via Ethernet if I do the test in reverse (IE: connect from holiday home to home machine) it works perfectly.
I also have a second machine at home connected via Ethernet only (no wifi) so I tried that - It worked perfectly to connect to the holiday home.
The big difference is my main machine was running VNC Connect 7.5.1 whilst my second machine (that works) was running 6.0.1.
Server is 7.5.1
NOTE: Any combo works just fine over WiFi - It's just Ethernet it fails with.
So I tried to downgrade my main machine to 6.1.1 (only version I could find) and the problem was still there.
I've since upgrade my second machine to 7.5.1 and the problem is back :(
So we have ruled out networking hardware and routers - It appears that if I can use VNC Connect 6.0.1 it works great but 6.1.1 up it doesn't - Any ideas much appreciated.
Just to note in case anyone else has a similar problem :
Huge thanks to Jack for working this out but it was having IPV6 enabled on Ethernet that caused the issue - Once I switched to IPV4 only it works perfectly!
