RealVNC Viewer update required
Read our important update here regarding RealVNC Viewer and Entra ID SSO
If you or your organization have opted to link your RealVNC Connect Team to Entra ID/Azure AD, you need to use your organisation/work account to sign in to RealVNC Connect instead of a RealVNC account. To discuss enabling sign-in using Entra ID/Azure AD for your Team, please contact us.
Signing in to RealVNC Viewer
Desktops
To sign in to RealVNC Viewer for Desktops with Entra ID/Azure AD, follow the steps below.
- Open RealVNC Viewer and click Sign In.
- Click the Sign In with your organization button.
- Enter your Entra ID/Azure AD email address, and click OK.
Note, if your system administrator has created a pre-configured RealVNC Viewer or configured the OidcOrgIdentifier parameter using policy this step and step 4 will be automatically skipped by RealVNC Viewer.
- If your email address is recognised, your web browser will open. Skip to step 5.
If your email address is not recognised, you will be prompted to enter an OIDC identifier instead.
After entering a valid OIDC identifier, your web browser will open. Continue to step 5.
If you do not know what your OIDC identifier is, please contact your system administrator.
- Select the account you want to sign in with and complete the sign in process
- Click Continue when prompted about signing in to VNC-Connect-SSO
- Click Open on the browser pop-up that appears to complete the sign in to RealVNC Viewer
- You will be signed in to RealVNC Viewer and your Team and computers will automatically appear
Mobile
- Open the RealVNC Viewer app and tap the Menu icon in the top left
- Tap the Sign In button
- Tap the Sign in with your organization link
- Enter the Organization Identifier that was provided by your system administrator and tap Continue
- Your browser will open to Microsoft's sign in page. Select the account you want to sign in with and complete the sign in process
- Click Continue when prompted about signing in to VNC-Connect-SSO
- You will be signed in to RealVNC Viewer and your Team and computers will automatically appear
Signing in to the RealVNC Connect Portal
To sign in to the portal with SSO, follow the steps below.
- Navigate to RealVNC Connect Portal.
- Click the Sign In with SSO button.
- Enter your organisation/work email address, and click Sign In.
- If your email address is recognised, you will be taken to the sign-in page for Entra ID/Azure AD.
If your email address is not recognised, you will be prompted to enter an OIDC identifier instead.
After entering a valid OIDC identifier, you will be will be taken to the sign-in page Entra ID/Azure AD.
If you do not know what your OIDC identifier is, please contact your system administrator.
- Select the account you want to sign in with and complete the sign in process.
- You will be returned to the RealVNC Connect portal and signed in with your Entra ID/Azure AD account.
Signing in to RealVNC Server
It is not currently possible to apply your subscription to RealVNC Server by signing in with an Entra ID/Azure AD account. Instead, you need to use a cloud connectivity token. For more information, please see Using Cloud connectivity tokens.
