Changes
The main focus for this release is the introduction of the Web Viewer, a browser-based viewer that allows remote connections to be made directly from the On-Prem Management Console, and a new in-place upgrade path for the Management Console installer.
- NEW: The On-Prem Management Console now includes a built-in Web Viewer, allowing remote connections to registered devices directly from the browser without the need for a standalone viewer application. This functionality will require a v7.18.0 Server to be installed on the target device.
- NEW: The Management Console installer now supports in-place upgrades, so it is no longer necessary to uninstall and reinstall the Management Console when updating to a new version.
- IMPROVED: SSL certificate validation in the installer has been strengthened, including improved checks for Subject Alternative Name (SAN) fields and handling of expired certificates.
- IMPROVED: The version number is now displayed in the On-Prem Management Console web UI.
- IMPROVED: Various user interface improvements have been made across the On-Prem Management Console and installer
-
FIXED: Various security vulnerabilities, including:
- The introduction of a unique username constraint
- Remove the ability to delete a Zone registered remote device from the main Management Console
Known Limitation:
- The Copy and Paste function does not work when using a Safari or Firefox web browser
For existing Management Console customers:
To start using Web Viewer you will be required to apply a new On-Prem Management Console License to your Console in order to use the new Web Viewer function. You will be able to obtain a new license from the RealVNC Portal.
