Using touch gestures to control the remote device
Mouse interaction mode (Android and iOS)
Your finger moves the mouse cursor rather than clicking where you touch, as you might expect with a touchscreen, giving you precise control of a remote device.
Gesture | Action | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Zoom | Pinch two fingers together to zoom out, or apart to zoom in. | |
Mouse move | Place one finger on the screen and drag to position the mouse cursor (offset from under your finger so you can always see it). | |
Left click | Tap with one finger to click the left mouse button at the point the mouse cursor is positioned (not your finger). | |
Double left click | Tap twice with one finger to click the left mouse button at the point the mouse cursor is positioned (not your finger). | |
Right click | Tap with two fingers to click the right mouse button at the point the mouse cursor is positioned (not your finger). | |
Middle click | Tap with three fingers to click the middle mouse button at the point the mouse cursor is positioned (not your finger). | |
Scroll | Place two fingers on the screen and drag slowly up or down to scroll the current application. | |
Drag-and-drop or select text | Tap twice, hold the second tap, and drag to move a desktop object (such as a dialog box or icon), or select a specific body of text. |

Using the app toolbar
The app toolbar provides access to several useful features when accessing a remote device.
Shown
Minimised
The toolbar will automatically minimise after 20 second of inactivity. If you want to keep the toolbar open, tap on the toolbar to lock it in place.
Using the virtual keyboard
Tap to open the virtual keyboard, above which a scrolling key bar containing function and other special keys is displayed. Double tap a modifier key (for example, Shift or Ctrl) to hold that key down. Some keys, such as Scroll Lock, are not available.
Note: If a hardware keyboard is detected, the virtual keyboard is not displayed. However, tapping the keyboard icon will still open the scrolling key bar.
Using mouse mode
Tap to open mouse mode. Virtual left, middle, and right mouse buttons, and a vertical scroll bar, are superimposed on the display, to provide an alternative to gestures.
