Changes
NEW: Teams using Entra ID SSO can now authenticate device connections with their Entra credentials. Admins can configure this through policy and manage access using Entra ID groups.
NEW: Connections to non-Real VNC servers can now be made from the RealVNC Connect Viewer. (Only available on Essentials, Plus, Premium, and Enterprise plans).
NEW: You can now use the F8 menu to send the username from your connection directly to the Windows logon screen. This is an advanced parameter and requires enabling to use.
FIXED: The proxy settings page is now accessible from the sign-in screen. This allows the routing of network traffic through a proxy.
FIXED: Connecting to devices with multiple monitors will no longer cause app crashes.
FIXED: Corrupted user preferences files will no longer cause connection issues and will be automatically repaired.
FIXED: RealVNC Connect for Windows no longer incorrectly shows "Access Denied" for members of the Built-In Administrators group using RealVNC Server's default permissions and RADIUS authentication when Windows is configured for non-English languages.
Improved security protections
This release includes additional security hardening to help protect against unauthorised code being loaded into the application on Windows systems.
By default, the application will now only load trusted, Microsoft‑signed system components, reducing the risk of malicious software interfering with the application at runtime.
This protection is enabled automatically. In rare cases where compatibility issues are encountered, it can be disabled using the RestrictedMode=0 setting. For more information, please see our Help Center article here.
