If you want to add the device of another user to your Team, you can send them a dedicated invite that lets them do so from within the RealVNC Connect app.

How do I invite a user?

To get started, follow the below steps!

1. Open the RealVNC Connect app
   
   
    
2. In the Device List, click the plus icon.
   
   
    
3. Choose the option to add Another user’s device.
   
   
    
4. Enter the email address of the user whose device you’d like to add to your Team.
   
   
    
5. With your user’s email(s) added, click Invite people and their devices to send them an invitation.
   
   
    
6. Click Finish.
   
   

Actions for the invited user

Now, let’s switch over to the invited user’s experience.

1. The invited user receives an email telling them that they’ve been invited to join your RealVNC Connect Team. They click the Join Team button inside the email to get started with setup.
   
   
    
2. If they don’t already have an account, they’ll be directed to a sign-up form to create a RealVNC Connect user account. With the form filled out, they click Get started now to continue.
   
   
   
   If they already have an account, all they need to do here is sign in with their RealVNC account details.
   
   
    
3. They then need to download and install the RealVNC Connect app if they don’t already have it, using the Get RealVNC Connect button.
   
   
    
4. After installing the app, the invited user needs to click Sign in to continue.
   
   
    
5. They are then redirected to the RealVNC Connect Portal and asked to add their device to your Team. With the team selected, they click Continue and follow the prompt to return to the RealVNC Connect app.
   
   
    
6. The invited user then needs to choose how connections are authenticated; VNC Device Password is pre-selected by default, but the user can choose to use their computer's system credentials. 
   
   
    

   If they do use VNC Device Password, they will need to make a note of the password they set so that they can share it with you and other users on the Team.

7. With everything set, the invited user clicks Launch and then they’re all done.
   
   

Connecting to the invited user's device

Now that the invited user’s device is setup, let’s jump back over to our RealVNC Connect app.

1. The invited user’s newly added device now appears in our Device List, double-click on the device’s icon to start the connection.
   
   
    
2. Enter the authentication method that the invited user chose when installing the RealVNC Connect app. In this case, we’re using the VNC Device Password.
   
     
    
3. Click Continue. We’re now connected to the other user’s device!
