RealVNC Connect v8 (beta) is available now!

We’re excited to announce that the RealVNC Connect Version 8 (beta) is now available to download.

RealVNC Connect Version 8 is a major release that marks the next chapter for our award-winning remote access software. This release represents our commitment to innovation and developing a remote access solution that meets the needs of IT Teams and professionals who demand reliable, trustworthy remote access that delivers both security and performance.

The result of consultation with users, RealVNC Connect Version 8 brings together RealVNC Viewer and Server together into a single, unified desktop app. This has seen us rebuild the application from the ground up, giving it a completely new look and feel that’s modern, intuitive, and more accessible than ever before.

RealVNC Connect Version 8 also boasts several new features, as well as improvements to existing ones.

NEW: Code Connect

In Version 8, we introduce Code Connect — an entirely new way to reach your remote devices and share access that makes it quicker to connect while maintaining our firm commitment to security.

Now you can invite guest users to access your licensed device without them needing to be a named user on your RealVNC Connect Team. The remote connection is made easy and secure by an expiring session code that must be shared with the guest user for them to then request attended access to your device.

UPDATED: On-Demand Assist

The latest version of On-Demand Assist now supports Linux, meaning On-Demand Assist sessions can be made to Linux devices.

Not only that, On-Demand Assist has been upgraded to our exclusive RFB6 protocol for improved connection performance and quality, including audio.
