VNC Server Check For Updates hangs with spinning waterwheel icon

Similar to the posting: 

"RealVNC Server claiming it hasn't been updated in 90 days".

My VNC Server system has been off the air for a while but is now back up and running 6.10 perfectly, except, it's showing an orange exclamation point ball icon. It is now indicating RealVNC Server has not been updated in 60 days. But when I click on "Check for Updates", I get a window saying "Update Check" and a spinning waterwheel icon and it just hangs like that. This is true whether I am operating locally, or via VNC Viewer. Is the update service actually running? Thanks for any advice.
