VNC Server on Ubuntu running on Mac Mini Not working remotely

I am struggling to get VNC Server to work from a remote location to my Ubuntu installation which has been installed on an old MAC Mini (Intel ).

I use Remoteit as the security and connection package, and it works fine to the same system for SSH connections but fails every time i try to connect the VNC connection.

When looking at the status of port 5900 i get a status that indicates it is in a CLOSE_Wait state, which according to Google searches is likely to be a misoperation of the process running the port and that the process assigned to the port is gnome_Remote_d(esktop)

Neither of these seems correct, anyone any help to offer on this issue please,
