log in to computer (host) i'm not physically next to

is there a way to connect to a computer- the host- i'm not physically able to accept the connection to? for example, if i'm out of state, i want to login to my personal host computer at home from my client phone while i'm traveling, but obviously can't accept the connection request on the host computer.
