Server Name Incorrect - How to Change?

I had to move and rename a couple of my macs recently and now I can's access either of the machines I moved and renamed. Strange that sometimes I can connect to one of them but it usually won't accept the password.

Hoping there's a way to change the vnc server name using the command line? I don't see any way to do it in the server app. I've rebooted multiple times and it still shows the old server name. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the server app but it keeps the old name.

Thanks,  Carl

  • Hi,

Not sure if you're still having this issue, but you can usually clear this up by deleting a specific file VNC Server uses. On Mac, I think its /var/root/.vnc/config.d/vncserver.d/CloudCredentials.bed

You can then sign in again and VNC will see it as a different computer
