Will there be support for connecting to VNC on MacOS27 Golden Gate?

We have tried connecting to a machine running MacOS27 Golden Gate with both RealVNC Viewer and RealVNC-Connect-Viewer-8.4.2 on Windows, but we are receiving the following error message:

Protocol error: key length too large

We don't experience any errors connecting to machines running MacOS26 Tahoe or earlier.

Is there a way to configure the RealVNC Viewer to connect successfully to Golden Gate?

Is a version of RealVNC Viewer in the works that can successfully connect to Golden Gate?

Thank you.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for providing the details.

At present, macOS 27 Golden Gate is not listed as a supported platform for RealVNC Connect. Our currently supported macOS versions include macOS Tahoe 26 and earlier supported releases.

We’re therefore unable to confirm a specific configuration change or future release timeline for macOS 27 at this stage.

If you’ve already raised a Support ticket regarding the “Protocol error: key length too large” message, please share the ticket number with us so we can link this report to the existing investigation.

If you haven’t raised a ticket yet, we’d recommend submitting one so our Support team can capture your environment and compatibility details for further review.

Current supported platforms can be found here:
