Session Record performance issue

Hello dear friends,

my customer uses RealVNC v7 for sessions between Windows Server 2019 virtual machines. I was tasked too activate SessionRecord for all connections. When I do, the performance of the session drops to a point where it's getting really hard to use the session. The mouse is legging behind significantly.

So far I tried reducing the amount of compression. Increased the amount of compression. Reduced webm fps and tried every single one of the available codecs. I have also updated client and server to v7.15, again without it getting any better.

The virtual machines and jumphosts have 4 - 8 vCPUs and 8-16GB of RAM respectively. The ESXi are plugged into the same switch.

Do you have any more tips on how to tweak the connections or is laggy performance something you have to live with, when using SessionRecord?

Greetings and thank you in advance

Tim
