IOS 26 - broken Magic Keyboard detection

Hi Just wanted to report that upgrading to IOS 26 results in the Magic Keyboard on IPads not being automatically detected. I believe this issue has happened with previous IOS upgrades. Manually opening the onscreen keyboard causes it to start working, although I notice the shift key is a bit unreliable and the CTRL ALT keys etc don’t work. It’s a frustrating workaround as the keyboard obscures the taskbar of the Windows machine I’m controlling. Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for posting! This is an issue we are aware of and our team are working on an updated version of the RealVNC Viewer for iOS, which we're aiming to publish in the near future.

Please keep an eye on the App Store for an update!

Coming up for 9 months later and this issue still exists.
    iPadOS 27 is out soon.
I presume you will never fix this issue?

  • Hi everyone,

We have released an updated version of RealVNC Viewer for iOS which resolves this issue. If your app has not automatically updated, please visit the RealVNC Viewer app page in the App Store on your device to manually update the app.

As part of the update, we have made the app compatible in a way that means it should work with future iOS versions without customers needing to update our app.

    Kind regards,

    Jack N
