Trouble with host

Here's an issue: Raspberry Pi4 is on ethernet. Hostname is JohnPi4. In VNC host on computer on same LAN, I connect to Pi desktop by typing in JohnPi4 in the VNC search box. A new connection icon called JohnPi4 appears in the VNC window. Then I close connection. Then it will not reconnect using the icon, and it will not reconnect by typing in JohnPi4 again in the search bar. But if I delete the icon, I can connect again through the search bar. Any ideas?
