Cannot connect!

I used to access my mom's computer to help troubleshoot for her and got a new laptop and now cannot connect. Keep on getting an error message saying wrong credentials even after I reset everything repeatedly. Support doesn't help at all just keeps on sending articles for me to read that don't help. Any ideas?
