Can’t type on iPadOS app into Windows 10

I’m running VNC Server on my Windows 10 machine. I am running iPadOS 18 with a Magic Keyboard and RVNC app. It has worked great for a long time, though sporadically I couldn’t type in the windows system from the ipad. Most times it was fine, but sporadically it was touch only. Pressing the keyboard icon at the top of the frame enabled the keyboard, but the bottom bar would block the search box or access to the start button. Now the problem is consistent and I can no longer type in the Windows session. I use the app to connect for work. Is there a setting I need to adjust?
