connection reset by peer (104)

Hi,

I upgraded an RPi 4 from Debian Bullseye (11) to Debian Bookworm (12). Jack says that a VNC server should work if we drop Wayland in favour of X11 in the RPi configuration. I have done that and activated VNC server. The usual icon does not appear on the taskbar; when launching the licensing wizard from the command line it indicates "connection reset by peer (104)"; I do nonetheless see the RPi 4 in my list of devices; when trying to connect from a VNC viewer, it says "VNC server not listening to cloud connection".

Any solution, or should I wait until Real VNC develops a general solution for Debian 12 and Wayland (announced for Q1, 2024)? Thanks

  • Try sudo

I have the same problem. On Raspbian 12 you should use sudo everywhere! I think it is because the VNC cannot put the VNC icon on the panel, and to change the panel apperiance you have to use sudo (in Raspbian 11 you can do it without it)
