How to enable VNC Server in Service Mode during Remote Desktop in Windows?
Hi,
I reinstalled the latest version of RVNC Server on a Windows machine I remote desktop to.
But, I could not get it to connect to the cloud.
When I click on "vncserver.exe" in the folder RealVNC Server is installed in, I got the below.
From discussions on this forum, I think I will have problems with RealVNC Server installation while remote desktop into the machine. Also, I learned that I probably could add a permissions parameter in the registry to resolve this. I modified the registry with the help of VNC Permission Creator and rebooted the machine.
Yet, clicking "RealVNC Server" icon on the start menu still will not give me the user interface.
What did I do wrong? What am I missing?
Thanks!

Hi Ivo R,
I have Home Subscription as well. I read that if I were to physically in front of my machine and start VNC Server, the machine may be online again.....

Finally, I had an "in-person" meeting with the machine. Started VNC Server on it. And the machine appeared online. However, since the machine usually does not have a monitor attached to it, if I were to unplug the monitor while the machine and VNC server was running, the machine would not be available for connection. So, I needed to make sure VNC Server would start automatically upon restart, shut the machine down, unplugged the screen and turned on the machine. Then, VNC Server will run and it was be available for connection like before.
Dan Chan.
