How to generalize and protect the VNC Client configuration for all users

Hi everyone,

I have found that VNC client configurations are saved per user for the VNC Client. Is there a way to generalize the VNC Client (Version 7.5.1 Enterprise) settings for all Windows Users in a Domain?

By policy, we need to disable the option to save passwords and protect it from being changed back.

Is there a way?

BR Florian

  • We have generalized the User settings:

    1. Create a user group with users that shall be able to connect to the VNC servers.
    2. Create a WMI filter with the machines where the VNC server is installed.
    3. Create a WMI filter with the machines where the VNC client is installed.
    4. Create a GPO with the VNC user settings (registry values). It only applies to the user group above. The GPO is only applied on machines matching the WMI filter of VNC slients.
    5. Create a GPO with the VNC server settings (registry values) and it applies only to machines matching the WMI filter of VNC servers.

The VNC servers are configured to allow only the IPs of the VNC clients, and allows only the user group to connect.
