RealVNC Lite setup on iPads not working

I’ve set up a lite account to support my 89 year old mum on her iPad using my iPad, but can’t get beyond her running RealVNC server (connect?) on her iPad and it just asking for a code. there’s no way I can find of licensing the server on her iPad?

have to say that the info available on this Lite version is a right malarkey! There’s no information as such and what there is is useless. It’s great that you’re saying that there’s a free to use solution for helping support people with little technology experience but it’s a totally different thing to actually come up with the goods. A step by step tutorial might be a start for all different technologies supported…?

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting. Accessing VNC Server for Mobile (Android and iOS) isn't currently possible using a Lite subscription. You will need to either opt for a subscription that:

    1. Includes On-Demand Assist, which requires the mobile user to enter a 9-digit code you provide when you want to connect, or;
    2. Includes cloud connectivity tokens and you have an MDM, such as Microsoft's Intune, to deploy the VNC Server mobile app to the mobile device(s)

    I would recommend option 1 as this is much easier to set up in a home environment. You can sign up for a free trial which includes On-Demand Assist at the below link to check out how it works before subscribing

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks,

    Jack
