VNC Server's signature does not match VNC Viewer's copy when connecting using the virtual-mode daemon

Follow

When connecting to VNC Server in Virtual Mode using the virtual-mode daemon, the VNC Server's signature displayed on the status dialog does not match the signature displayed on the VNC Viewer's connection dialog. This is because the initial connection is made to the virtual-mode daemon which has its own server signature. The virtual-mode daemon authenticates the connecting user and then passes the user onto a new virtual-mode desktop which has its own server signature.

A fix may be available in future releases.

We are investigating ways in which the system administrator can determine the virtual-mode daemon's server signature and publish it to enable users to verify their connection.
